Tasked with developing the vision for the next generation Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging experience. The goal is to improve and enhance the user experience for technologists when acquiring MR images. This case study outlines the steps and strategies I took to inform the design of a future concept prototype for the Next Gen MR Experience.
Approach:
1. Use Case Development:
- With the data-driven research in place based on interviews, and observations, I mapped out typical workflows, pain points, and opportunities for improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams representing technologists involved in MR image acquisition.

2. Data-Driven Persona Creation:
- In collaboration with the research team, I create detailed personas representing technologists involved in MR image acquisition based on patterns and behaviours to identify common pain points and needs, each with distinct characteristics, goals, and challenges.
- These profiles served as a foundation for feature prioritization and design considerations.




3. High-Level Storyboards:
- Worked with a design and research team to bring the high-level storyboards to life, employing a visual storytelling approach to create high-level storyboards for 20 different concepts.
- These storyboards illustrated key ideas and experiences that the future MR experience should deliver.
- Storyboards played a pivotal role in conveying the intended functionality and how it would benefit technologists.
- Iteratively refined the designs based on UX testing and user feedback. I conducted user testing and gathered feedback to further refine the concepts.
Conclusion:
Through a data-driven approach, the development of personas, use cases, and high-level storyboards, I have successfully shaped the vision for the next generation MR experience. This case study showcases my journey from research and ideation to the development and launch of a concept, emphasizing the improvement of technologists' and patient experience in MR image acquisition.
